Yangshuo Folk Antiphonal Singing
Folk antiphonal singing Yangshuo is home to 11 ethnic groups, including Han, Zhuang, Yao, and Miao. In addition to their own customs and festivals, each ethnic group has a common feature: they are good at antiphonal singing. Whether it is a wedding, funeral, or festival, they always set up a singing stage and compete with each other until the night is over. These folk songs talk about love, express the separation of life and death, advocate loyalty and filial piety, and talk about the past and the present. The number of singers ranges from three to five to dozens. The Mid-Autumn Festival antiphonal singing in Gaotian, Zhuang Township, and the "Singing Hall Wish" meeting of the Longwei Yao people in Fuli are the most distinctive.
