Chunlang Dance, also known as "wooden stick dance", is popular in the Zhuang villages of Donglan County on the banks of the Hongshui River. It is pronounced "Telang" in Zhuang language. It is a kind of self-entertainment folk art activity that the Zhuang people like very much. This dance originated in the Song Dynasty and evolved from the martial arts practice of the Zhuang ancestors. Chunlang expresses a joyful mood, and is sometimes accompanied by bronze drums and cowhide drums. The sound echoes in the mountains and can be heard more than ten miles away. Singapore has performed in counties and regions many times and won awards from relevant departments. It has been included in the "Chinese Folk Dance Collection, Guangxi" series. In September 1989, it was filmed into a movie by the Film and Audio-visual Department of China News Agency and distributed at home and abroad. In November 1992, it was also invited by the organizing committee of the first China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival to Guilin to perform at the opening ceremony of the first China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. It lasted for more than a month and was well received by domestic and foreign experts, scholars and tourists.
