Spring Ox Dance is popular in Fenjie, Luojing, Silun and other places in Luoding. It was introduced from Foshan during the Yongzheng period of Qing Dynasty. The dance props are made of bamboo and colorful silk. It can be performed on stage or in public. Legend has it that it was created to commemorate a fairy ox that helped folk farmers to get a good harvest. The dance plot reflects the farming process and the joy of the harvest.
