Yin Yang Board
Yin Yang Ban is a rain-seeking sacrificial dance that is popular in the Dongbaligou area of Zoucheng City. Because it is a dance of two boards hitting each other, it is also called "beating Yin Yang". It has a history of more than 400 years. Baligou Village is located in the hilly area northeast of Zoucheng City. In the old days, it was completely dependent on the weather for food. Because there were many droughts, there were many rain-seeking sacrificial activities. Over time, a unique form of rain-seeking sacrificial activities was formed in the local area. Yin Yang Ban performances are performed by two people, one man and one woman, with no limit on the number of people, ranging from a few hundred to thousands. Men are bare-chested, wearing "eight-diagram belts", lantern pants, and black cloth shoes. Women wear headscarves, head flowers, large-collared jackets, colorful pants, and embroidered shoes. Yin Yang Ban performances are divided into two types: "marching" and "field". During the "march", the two wings interweave to form "two dragons coiling around a pillar", the four teams interweave to form "linked rings" and "double-linked rings", and the dance moves are "twisted twists" and "kaleidoscopes". The performance is performed in the open space in front of the "god's shed". The performers dance while beating the drums, and add various juggling moves and male and female flirting moves. The scene is quite lively. The dancers are flexible, coordinated, and humorous, which is very contagious. During the performance, the male actor's "jump step" of rotating 360 degrees in the air and the "backward step" of sliding backwards with the feet close to the ground are really amazing; the female actors' "three steps and one tiptoe" and "bouncing step" are light and lively. Especially in the "Yin Yang Chase" dance between men and women, the dancers are arranged in a circular "Auspicious Cloud" formation and beat the board. A female dancer beats the board and walks out of the formation, jogging around the formation. At this time, a male dancer follows and chases the female dancer, sometimes squatting and jumping to chase, and sometimes doing somersaults. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
