Niuzhuang Town, Dongying District, is located in the southern part of Dongying District, with Dongying Central City to the north and Guangrao County, the hometown of the military saint, to the south. Xinhe Road, a provincial first-class highway, runs through the town, and four main canals and branch rivers run across the east and west. The town has a total area of 116.9 square kilometers, with 42 administrative villages under its jurisdiction and a total population of 46,600, including 32,000 agricultural population. In recent years, the town has been awarded honorary titles such as "Municipal Civilized Unit", "Municipal Five-Good Advanced Township Party Committee", and "Provincial Model Township for Villagers' Self-Government". It has been identified by the provincial and municipal governments as "New Township for Village and Town Construction in Shandong Province", "Top Ten Key Construction Center Towns in Dongying City", and "Pilot Township for Hundred New Projects in Shandong Province". In March 2000, Niuzhuang Town was identified by the Shandong Provincial Government as one of the 237 key development centers in the province. The paper-cutting art of Niuzhuang Town, Dongying District has a long history. Since the reform and opening up, the people of the hometown of Lv Opera, under the care of party committees and governments at all levels, have taken it as their mission to promote paper-cutting art, established a paper-cutting art association, carried out paper-cutting art exchanges, cultivated paper-cutting art talents, and served folk paper-cutting artists, making the traditional folk paper-cutting art full of vitality. A group of new paper-cutting artists represented by Cao Wenzhong, a folk paper-cutting artist in Niuzhuang Town, have emerged. Mr. Cao Wenzhong has shown a unique interest and understanding in paper-cutting art since the third grade of elementary school. In 1984, he became an opera actor in the Dongying Lv Opera Troupe, who loves literature and art. 15 years of drama life enriched his paper-cutting creation space. In 2002, he studied under the paper-cutting artist Wen Shaoqing, and his paper-cutting art made rapid progress. In 2004, his paper-cutting works based on model operas such as "Red Lantern" and "Sha Jiabang" won the gold medal in the National Paper-Cutting Art Festival Invitational Competition. In September 2006, under the active advocacy of Cao Wenzhong, the Dongying Paper-cutting Association was established, and Cao Wenzhong served as the deputy secretary-general of the association. In 2004, "Festival Picture" won the silver medal in the National Paper-cutting Competition, and "Eight Model Operas" won the gold medal in the National Paper-cutting Art Festival Invitational Competition; in 2005, "Hundred Longevity Picture" and other 8 works were collected and sent abroad for cultural and artistic exchanges; in 2006, Cao Wenzhong, as a director of the Dongying Paper-cutting Association, took his works to Jinan to participate in the first Shandong Cultural Industry Expo. Mr. Cao Wenzhong's works are sophisticated, exquisite, and creative. His works are simple in artistic modeling, good at grasping the typical characteristics of things, and through exaggeration and deformation, injecting the author's emotions, making the original typical characteristics more vivid, distinct, and reasonable; the works are not rigid in reality, not empty in emptiness, and the virtual is real, and the real is virtual. The reasonable interlacing configuration has a sense of rhythm and rhythm; the connection is clever and beautiful, and the clever connection of points and lines gives people a sense of reality in deformation and at the same time full of life interest. It has won awards in national competitions many times, and has traveled across oceans to participate in international art exchanges and been presented as gifts to international friends.
