Wulian Cutting Flower, also known as "Cutting Embroidery" and "Cutting Velvet Embroidery", is a traditional handicraft of Wulian County. It is concentrated in the villages and towns of Wulian County, Rizhao City, Shandong Province and surrounding areas, and widely distributed in Ju County, Donggang District and Linyi. Wulian Cutting Flower pays attention to the traditional pure handmade method, with a total of six processes, namely: cotton shell making, fixing samples, designing patterns, adding lining and making molds, picking colors and embroidering, and dividing velvet. Its core element is "cutting", which is to cut a pair of embroidered embroidery from the middle with a sharp blade, dividing it into two, naturally symmetrical. This is the biggest difference between Wulian Cutting Flower and other embroidery techniques, and it is also the origin of the name of Wulian Cutting Flower. Wulian Cutting Flower pays the most attention to symmetrical beauty, full beauty and gorgeous beauty. The so-called symmetrical beauty means that the graphics, colors and spaces are completely symmetrical from top to bottom, left to right; the so-called full beauty means that there is no blank space in the entire embroidery; the so-called gorgeous beauty means bold colors, bright red and green, bright and eye-catching, strong contrast, and colorful.
