Beijing
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Paper-cutting is a traditional folk art form in my country. It requires simple tools, is easy to make, covers a wide range of subjects, and is very popular among the people. Zhang Fengqin, the inheritor of "round flower paper-cutting", was born in Beijing in 1956 and learned paper-cutting from her grandmother since she was a child. Her works are delicate and beautiful, often using round flowers, animals and various traditional mascots as creative themes, with a strong folk art style. Representative works such as "A Bright Future" and "Blessings Filled the Universe" have won awards at international paper-cutting art exhibitions many times. In the teaching and popularization of paper-cutting art, Zhang Fengqin has achieved fruitful results and made gratifying achievements.
