Dabie Mountain bonsai originated in the Dabie Mountain area and is in the same vein as the Hui style bonsai. The Dabie Mountain is about 200 to 1,700 meters above sea level, with fertile soil, comfortable climate, distinct four seasons, and rich resources, which are suitable for cultivating and planting flowers, trees, and tree stump bonsai. In the long-term artistic practice, rich cultivation experience has been accumulated, and influenced by local culture and folk customs, bonsai tree stumps have gradually formed a unique artistic style. Dabie Mountain bonsai uses local native wood species such as silver hazel (national first-class protection), pearl boxwood (national second-class protection), elm, maple, fraxinus, crape myrtle, plum blossom, pine, cypress, cypress, cypress, and hawthorn as representative tree species. Others include cypress, podocarpus, osmanthus, June snow, photinia, and yellow broom as raw materials for bonsai production, which are cultivated, pruned, and shaped. Through unique production techniques and traditional skills, unique style and full of charm bonsai artworks are created.
