Ningguo City is located in the southeast of Anhui Province, adjacent to Lin'an and Anji in Zhejiang Province. The permanent ethnic groups are mainly Han, followed by She. The She people in Ningguo have three surnames: Lan, Lei, and Zhong. They mainly live in Yunti Township, Ningguo City and surrounding Xianxia, Yangshan, Shiqiao and other places. They moved from Chun'an, Jingning, Tonglu, Lanxi in Zhejiang Province and Putian in Fujian to Yunti and surrounding towns and villages in the fifth year (1879), the ninth year (1883), and the thirteenth year (1887) of the Guangxu period. After generations of reproduction and development, the population of Ningguo She has increased year by year, accounting for 96% of the total population of Anhui Province. On November 8, 1992, with the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Government, Yunti She Township was established. The township is composed of five ethnic groups: Han, She, Miao, Hui, and Zhuang, among which the She population accounts for 35% of the total population of the township. It is the only She township in Anhui Province. After thousands of years of vicissitudes of history, the She nationality has become one of the main ethnic minorities in southeastern my country. As an independent ethnic entity, it is formed by the differentiation, assimilation and integration of many ethnic tribes and other ethnic groups. The She nationality practices monogamy in marriage, and is limited to marriage within the three surnames of Lan, Lei and Zhong, and does not marry with the same surname. The early wedding ceremony was relatively simple, and men and women were free to marry. After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, influenced by foreign ethnic groups, the wedding etiquette became more complicated, interesting, colorful and lively. The main procedures of marriage are: engagement (getting engaged), choosing a happy day (sending off the day), welcoming the bride, etc. The distinctive weddings include: blocking the red man, picking up snails, borrowing a wok, etc. The whole wedding is completed in singing, laughing and playing, which is a treasure in the traditional culture of the She nationality. Although the places where the She nationality lives in Ningguo all agree with this kind of wedding etiquette, the She nationality wedding etiquette in Yunti She Nationality Township is the most simple and interesting.
