Flower basket lantern dance is a folk dance popular in Pudong area. It originated from the Taoist sacrificial ceremony more than 200 years ago. It belongs to the section of "wearing lanterns" in the Taoist ritual "Nine Nether Lanterns". Later, it was spread to the folk Taoist rituals and gradually evolved into a highly ornamental dance folk activity. The basic steps of flower basket lantern dance are mainly based on opera female steps, which can be divided into broken steps, round steps and flower bang steps. The basic requirements are that the upper body is stable, the two knees are close together, the steps are small and fast, and the heels touch the ground first when the two feet start, and the soles touch the ground slowly. Before the front toes touch the ground, the back toes start forward. As the speed of the dance changes from slow to fast, the steps must be brisk and lively. In the slow rhythm, when one foot is lifted, the heel kicks back slightly, the two knees are slightly bent, and they are elastic, so that the steps are slightly trembling, expressing a cheerful mood. The movements of the flower basket lantern dance are divided into: horizontal flower shed, long flower shed, lotus blossom, happy reunion, chain, large and small annual rings, butterfly flying, flower stamen, flowers all over the ground, inner and outer Luocheng, and reunion. Some of them are inherited, such as "flowers all over the ground", "inner and outer Luocheng", and "reunion", while "lotus blossom", "chain", "butterflies flying" and "flower stamen" are evolved from "single lantern", "pulling osmanthus", "double flying" and "touching butterflies" in "wearing lanterns". These movements are characterized by the beauty of life and the aura of folk customs, with warm atmosphere, symmetrical structure, rich graphics, cheerful rhythm and strong local flavor. The actors use the flower baskets in their hands and the unique beauty of women's body lines to vividly use "open, close, turn, circle, run, run, wear, jump and other techniques to make the team unpredictable and form beautiful patterns. When making a big circle, the actors dance the lantern baskets and turn around in circles, and their momentum is like a whirlwind sweeping fallen leaves.
