Taiping drum was not originally called Taiping drum. It originated from a sacrificial ritual of a sect. It appeared in the Sui and Tang dynasties in my country. It spread to the people in the Qing Dynasty and became very popular. In order to pray for good weather and sing praises of the peaceful and prosperous times, people beat drums, sang and danced to express their feelings, so people called this drum Taiping drum. Taiping drums have existed in the western part of Beijing for a long time. It is said that they were spread by the palace maids in the palace. Since this dance-style performance is a program for the emperor and ministers, it immediately became popular in the suburbs of Beijing once it was spread. In the western part of Beijing, Taiping drums have been popular in Wangzuo area since the late Qing Dynasty and have become a widespread folk entertainment activity in the capital. The Taiping drums popular in the strange village of Wangzuo Town have a history of more than 200 years and are an important part of the Taiping drums in western Beijing. In the area of Wangzuo Town in the western part of Beijing, from Yangjuantou Village in the northwestern mountainous area to Wangzhuang and Nangangwa in the southeast, there are activities in every village. The Taiping drum performance in Guai Village, Wangzuo Township is the most outstanding. Every family has a drum and everyone can play it. It was invited to Liangxiang, Tongxian, Hebei and other regions to perform a long time ago and was deeply loved by the audience. In the large-scale flower fair held in Fengtai District in the 1980s, CCTV, Beijing TV and other media reported on the Taiping drum in Guai Village. On February 18, 1984 (the second day of the first lunar month), the Taiping drum in Guai Village represented the farmers in the suburbs of Beijing and was invited to participate in the Spring Festival Gala held in the Great Hall of the People. In particular, the wonderful performances of the two sisters Li Yunxiang and Li Yungui left a deep impression on people. The movements they performed included dozens of sets of movements such as cockfighting, stringing flower pipa, circling eight characters, garden drums, busy at both ends, tying flower fences, lying dolls, etc., which were very interesting, funny and humorous. The performance exuded a strong breath of life and the thoughts and feelings of singing a better life. Taiping drum has a unique accompaniment form, with instruments such as banhu, erhu, drums, gongs, trumpets, etc., and lyrics for the accompanying songs, such as "Four Seasons Song" and "Twelve Months Song".
