Huaxian Wanwanqiang shadow play (formerly known as Shiqiang) was formed in the early Qing Dynasty. Because it is mainly spread in the areas of Erhua and Dali in Weinan, Dongfu, Guanzhong, it is also called Donglu Wanwanqiang. This type of drama has complete singing styles, and the accompanying instruments are very distinctive. It is delicate, elegant, gentle and lingering, and has rich and colorful forms of expression. The shadow puppets are beautifully shaped, the characters have obvious personality characteristics, the materials are carefully selected, and the production is fine. During the Qianlong and Jiaqing years of the Qing Dynasty, dramatist Li Fanggui and other literati and scholars wrote many traditional repertoires such as "Ten Books" for Wanwanqiang shadow puppets. They have been circulated to this day and have been transplanted, adapted and put on stage by other dramas. They have been performed for a long time and have made great contributions to the opera art of Shaanxi. Shadow puppet classes and clubs are mostly composed of five or six people. They are easy to move and can be active in villages, towns and houses all year round, laying a solid foundation in the vast rural areas. It is now facing the crisis of being lost and surviving due to various reasons. Saving and protecting Wanwanqiang shadow puppetry, an excellent traditional culture that is popular among the masses, has become an urgent and important task.
