Zhang Guolao Mountain, also known as Xianweng Mountain, is located 15 kilometers west of Xingtai City, with the main peak at an altitude of 449 meters. It is a national AAA-level scenic spot and the first batch of provincial scenic spots in Hebei Province. According to the ancient Tang Dynasty stele on the mountain, this mountain was originally named Wufeng Mountain, where Guangzong Taoist Zhang Guo lived in seclusion and practiced and became one of the Eight Immortals. Emperor Minghuang of the Tang Dynasty, Li Longji, regarded Laozi as his ancestor, suppressed Buddhism and promoted Taoism, so he conferred Zhang Guo the title of Xianweng, changed Xingzhou Wufeng Mountain to Xianweng Mountain, and built a Qixia Temple for Zhang Guo. The cave after the temple was renamed Xianweng Cave. As early as the Ming Dynasty, the "Xianweng Ancient Cave" was known as one of the eight scenic spots in Xingzhou.

Philosophy related to the heritage

Interpretation from the perspective of Eastern philosophy: In Eastern philosophy, especially Taoism and Confucianism, the harmonious coexistence of nature and humanity is regarded as the supreme pursuit. Take Zhang Guolao Mountain as an example. This mountain is not only famous for its natural beauty, but also contains profound cultural and historical heritage. From the perspective of Eastern philosophy, Zhang Guolao Mountain is a vivid embodiment of the concept of "harmony between man and nature". Every landscape in the mountain, whether it is strange peaks and rocks or towering ancient trees, seems to be the brushstrokes of nature, outlining a vivid picture scroll. The human landscape in the mountain, such as monuments and temples, is a perfect fusion of human wisdom and natural beauty, reflecting the philosophical idea of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. In addition, Zhang Guolao Mountain is closely connected with Taoist culture. The Taoist concepts of "ruling by inaction" and "conforming to nature" are fully demonstrated here, allowing people to realize a philosophical realm of transcending the secular world and returning to nature during the tour. Interpretation from the perspective of Western philosophy: From the perspective of Western philosophy, Zhang Guolao Mountain can be interpreted as the intersection of natural aesthetics and existentialism. Natural aesthetics emphasizes that the beauty of nature is an objective existence independent of human consciousness. The natural landscape of Zhangguolao Mountain, such as its majestic peaks and clear streams, not only shows the magnificence of nature, but also inspires people's perception and thinking about beauty. Existentialist philosophy focuses on the significance of individual existence in nature and society. As a tourist attraction, Zhangguolao Mountain provides tourists with an opportunity to escape from the daily hustle and bustle and reflect on the value of their own existence. Walking in the mountains and facing the magnificent natural landscape, people may feel insignificant, but at the same time, it will also inspire deep thinking about the meaning of life. This experience coincides with the discussion of "freedom", "choice" and "existence" in existentialist philosophy. In addition, the historical relics and cultural landscapes in the mountains, such as the ancient Daoguan, also remind people of the thinking about history, culture and personal identity in Western philosophy, and inspire people's philosophical reflection on historical continuity and the significance of personal existence.
