Beijing
🎧  Listen to Introduction

The art of micro-carving refers to the technique of finely carving on materials such as hair, rice grains, and ivory, and is praised as "supernatural work". It is completed through writing, scratching, rubbing, pushing, pulling, tapping, scratching, digging and other techniques, and then through more than 10 steps of meticulous processing. This skill has gone through four periods of development, relying on eyesight, magnifying glass, microscope, and nanotechnology. Chen Xiaolin studied calligraphy from Mr. Qi Gong and studied ivory micro-carving from Mr. Chen Shipin, forming a style of seeing both the knife and the pen, and the two alternating. His works are collected by many foreign museums and have strong collection and ornamental value. Information source: District Cultural Committee Information source: District Cultural Committee
