Silk painting
Silk painting is a traditional art project in the fourth batch of representative projects of Huai'an's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Historical evolution and distribution During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Huai'an was an important place for the communication of nine provinces with ships from the south and horses from the north. Merchants gathered in Qingjiangpu, and the transportation was convenient, which brought convenient conditions for cultural dissemination. The dissemination and promotion of traditional art categories such as woodcut, stone carving, paper cutting, brick carving, etc., brought rich artistic nourishment to local folk artists and promoted the great development and prosperity of various art categories in Qingjiangpu. In particular, silk painting art was quite influential at the time. Among them, the silk painting art of the Wang family was quite famous and widely spread in Qingjiangpu. Silk painting is a kind of handmade art that wraps soft cotton or linen in cloth as a skeleton according to artistic conception, and covers it with silk on the outside. Silk painters use painting, cutting, sewing, pasting, folding, ironing and other methods according to the different characteristics of people, animals and plants to make lifelike people, flowers, birds, insects and fish. The works have a unique three-dimensional relief effect, which is vivid and lifelike. Basic content and characteristics The production of silk painting is divided into preparatory work, conception, sub-production, composition and assembly, etc. Take the production of characters as an example: the first is conception. Think about the character modeling that needs to be produced. The second is preparation. According to the selected character image, fully collect and organize relevant information, including the character's personality, appearance, characteristics, the era background, cultural customs, social level, etc., and organize and summarize them. The third is the design sketch. After conception and preparation, design the character's expression at the moment of "appearance", and then match the character's appearance, clothing, accessories, modeling, etc., draw a sketch, and choose the materials needed for production, such as the fabric and color of the clothing, the skin color of the face, the choice of accessories, etc. The fourth is sub-production. Decompose the work into the head, torso, limbs, accessories, etc. and make them separately. For example, when making the head, we should pay attention to the use of the "three stops and five eyes" painting technique, the torso should be in proportion, the limbs should be in line with the physiological habits of the human body, and in the process of making, we should also use methods such as cutting, sewing, pasting, folding, ironing, etc. to make clothes that are in line with the dynasty and status of the character. And according to the needs of the characters, they are matched with different accessories such as phoenix hairpins, belts, bracelets, etc. For special characters, such as Sun Wukong, Lao Shouxing, Lin Daiyu, etc., it is necessary to design and make props such as golden hoop sticks, longevity stick gourds, and flower hoes separately. These props must be of appropriate size. In addition to meeting the proportion requirements of the characters, they cannot exceed the space range of the picture frame. After the production of the above parts and props is completed, the final composition assembly needs to be carried out on the bottom plate of the picture frame. In addition to some basic connection requirements, special attention should be paid to the movement direction of each part and the folds of the clothes. Composition and assembly is a very critical step in making silk paintings. This depends entirely on the experience summarized by the creator in long-term practice. If the composition and assembly are not handled well, the work will be stiff, dull, lack vitality, and have a sense of craftsmanship; if it is handled properly, the whole work will be realistic, dynamic in stillness, lifelike, and ready to come out.
