Pizhou Flower and Bird Characters
Pizhou bird and flower calligraphy is a traditional art project in the first batch of representative projects of Xuzhou's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Pizhou bird and flower calligraphy, also known as "bird calligraphy", "colorful flower, bird, insect and fish combination calligraphy", "hidden calligraphy painting", "flying silk board writing", "character riddles", "design writing", etc., evolved from the ancient "flying white calligraphy" and was popular in the Han and Wei dynasties. In the Tang and Song dynasties, it was integrated with "bird and insect calligraphy", "bamboo joint calligraphy", "tadpole writing", "tiger claw calligraphy", "dragon claw calligraphy", "luanfeng calligraphy", "spicel calligraphy", "cloud calligraphy" and other calligraphy styles and traditional folk bird and flower paintings, forming a unique art form of calligraphy and painting. According to the "Pizhou Chronicles" of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and related historical books, Pizhou bird and flower calligraphy was widely circulated in Pizhou before the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Chen Lue, a Jinshi in Pizhou, described in detail the bird and flower calligraphy works and the popularity of the folk calligraphy and painting artists in Pizhou at that time in his book "Hu Xiangtu". Lianfang Jiangou Village, Tiefu Town, is one of the birthplaces of Chinese bird-and-flower characters. Every household in the village hangs bird-and-flower characters on festivals. From centenarians to children who can write, they can write and draw bird-and-flower characters and are proficient in them. Pizhou bird-and-flower characters use special painting and calligraphy tools and colorful brushes, and use special painting and calligraphy techniques to replace the strokes of characters with shapes of objects and spirals. The dot, horizontal, left-falling and right-falling strokes of characters are drawn with the images of flowers, birds, grass, insects, fish and other animals and plants, and are combined according to the basic fonts of Chinese characters. The brushwork is smooth, the brushwork is unique, the strokes are round, the colors are bright, and the picture is magnificent. Colorful handwriting can be drawn in one stroke, and single, double and multi-color can be switched freely. The ink thickness, dryness and wetness vary in thousands of ways. It only takes three to five minutes to complete it in one go, quickly drawing simple, exaggerated and changing shapes of objects, forming a colorful bird-and-flower character combination of flowers, birds, insects and fish. The Pizhou flower and bird calligraphy combines calligraphy and painting. It is both calligraphy and painting. It is similar to and not similar to the original. It has both form and spirit. It has a unique style, is elegant and luxurious, and is vivid, giving people a beautiful enjoyment. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
