Meitang Lion Dance Team is a local traditional culture of Yaxi with a long history. It was founded in the late Qing Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. It has a history of a hundred years and has been passed down to the second generation in modern times. At the beginning of the creation, in order to protect the villagers, the villagers spontaneously organized lion dance teams and Water Margin and other activities. After the changes of time, the lion dance has been preserved. Reform and opening up, the distribution of land to households, the villagers have plenty of time, and they use the winter leisure to spontaneously organize voluntary lion dance teams to participate in some local festive and folk performances, which are well received by local people. From the original self-made green lion, it has gradually realized 14 big lions and 4 small lions, integrating the traditional folk skills of percussion and wind bands. The largest team can reach more than a hundred people. With the people's love for popular culture, the second generation of young people has gradually joined in in recent years, and has performed many times in Wuxi, Nanjing and other places.
