Nanjing Embroidery
Nanjing embroidery is a traditional art project in the fourth batch of representative projects of municipal intangible cultural heritage. Gaochun local embroidery has lasted for thousands of years and reached its peak after the Song Dynasty moved south. The inheritance of the Song Dynasty court embroidery and the folk culture of Gaochun collided to create a unique Gaochun embroidery, which is both noble and elegant, and has a fresh local flavor. Chen Baozhen, the founder of "Baozhen Embroidery", learned the local embroidery skills of Gaochun from her grandmother and mother since she was a child. She also visited Su embroidery, Shu embroidery, Xiang embroidery, Bian embroidery, and Jing embroidery. She also went to the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang and visited the Miao embroidery in Yunnan. She studied in Suzhou for three years and her embroidery style is unique. "Baozhen Embroidery" uses colored silk thread to pierce silk, satin, and cloth with the help of needles to form patterns, designs or words. It originated from embroidered clothes, developed into daily necessities, and then into ornamental items. At present, embroidery works are divided into two categories: embroidered calligraphy and painting and embroidered daily necessities. The embroidery of "Baozhen Embroidery" is mainly in Chinese style. In recent years, European and modern styles have been developed to meet the requirements of young people for home decoration. At the same time, it combines Gaochun Yaxi International Slow City, Gaochun Old Street, Gaochun Four Treasures and other three series to develop tourist gifts.
