Dragon Lantern (Changlu Dragon Lantern) (expanded), a traditional dance item in the third batch of representative items of municipal intangible cultural heritage. The dragon is an imaginary animal created by our ancestors. It is a symbol of sacred power and auspiciousness, also known as a "totem". There are many varieties of dragon dance in Gaochun County, including dragon-lifting, Kanglong, board dragon, double dragon, rolling dragon, etc. Among them, the dragon-lifting of Changlu Yang's family in Chunxi Town is huge in scale and magnificent in momentum. It enjoys a great reputation in the region and has the greatest influence. Changlu dragon-lifting, formerly known as board dragon, has wooden boards under its dragon head, dragon body and dragon tail to support the dragon body with bamboo cloth. The wooden body is divided into 24 sections, each section of the dragon body is about 0.8 meters in diameter and each section is about 2 meters long. The dragon head is 3 meters high. The dragon tail is about 2 meters high, and the head, body and tail are connected with a swivel hole device handle. The whole dragon is complete, and each is about 60 meters long. There are 6 to 8 people who take turns to lift and dance each section of the dragon body. Three or five dragons are dispatched, and there will never be two dragons. There are about a thousand people in the pan dance, ceremonial guards, and wind and percussion bands, which can be said to be very powerful. Changlu dragon dance has a history of nearly 800 years and is well-known, enjoying the reputation of "the crown of dragons". Some literati and poets also left poems. Changlu dragon lanterns have the characteristics of great momentum, beautiful shape, loud sound, and strict rules. In the long historical process, batches of craftsmen have been cultivated. Today, Mr. Yang Wenbo can be said to be good at everything, especially the exquisite and unique production of opera characters and dragon decorations. Changlu dragon dance has regained its brilliance after the reform and opening up. In 1985, it participated in the folk art performance held during the Lantern Festival in the whole county, which shocked the urban and rural masses. On the fourth day of the first lunar month in 1997, it participated in the Nanjing "Taicheng Cup" dragon dance competition and won the "Best Modeling Award" and "Spiritual Civilization Construction Award". CCTV reported Changlu dragon dance with close-up shots in the news broadcast program; California TV in the United States also reported it in the Sino-US cultural exchange program. The Changlu Dragon Carrying has come out of its conservative confinement and has entered county towns, provincial capitals, and the screen, allowing the Chinese dragon culture to be communicated and promoted, and showing the charm of folk dance and the profound cultural heritage.
