730 years ago, on the 23rd day of the sixth lunar month in 1278 (the first year of Song Xiangxing and the 15th year of Yuan Zhizheng), the last emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty, Emperor Bing, and Empress Dowager Yang, escorted by a group of civil and military officials including Zhang Shijie, the Grand Tutor, and Lu Xiufu, the Prime Minister, led more than 100,000 soldiers and civilians, and were chased by the Yuan army. They finally retreated to Yashan, Xinhui. In the first month of 1279, the Yuan army caught up with them. From the 13th day of the first month to the 6th day of the second month, a famous sea battle in ancient China, the Song-Yuan Yamen Sea Battle, took place on the sea surface of Yamen. The battle ended with the victory of the Yuan army, the defeat of the Song army, and the fall of the Southern Song Dynasty. From the last court of the Southern Song Dynasty staying in Yashan to its final demise, it took about 7 and a half months in Xinhui. During this period, many real and touching deeds occurred, and many national heroes who were willing to die and loyal to the country were born. The Yamen Sea Battle left a very rich cultural heritage for Xinhui. Among them, the legends that have been circulating among the people are part of these heritages. These folk stories have been passed down through oral transmission from generation to generation. These stories include stories of naval battles, legends of Song Yuxi, stories of people, legends of scenery, stories of the descendants of the Song Dynasty drifting to Xinhui to multiply the royal family village, and stories of people and events who built temples to commemorate national heroes in later generations. These folk stories are precious cultural heritage left to us by our ancestors. For generations, people have used these stories to educate their descendants to remember history, not forget their ancestors, remember heroes, learn from heroes, and establish national integrity and patriotic feelings. In order to prevent these heritages from being lost, inherit the fine traditions of the nation, and promote the spirit of patriotism, we have the responsibility to protect these cultural heritages, better play their role, and let them continue to be passed on. "History of Song Dynasty": Xiufu's talent and thoughts were clear and beautiful, and few literati at that time could match him. He was calm and did not seek recognition.
