Tancheng traditional handmade embroidery is a traditional handmade skill that uses silk thread and embroidery needles to embroider different patterns on clothing, shoes and hats, etc. It mainly embroiders children's clothing, shoes and hats, embroidered purses, etc. It started in the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 200 years. The needlework techniques of "stretching flowers", "filling embroidery" and "gold-edged embroidery" are mostly used. After generations of continuous inheritance, on the basis of adopting the strengths of many, continuous development and innovation have formed the unique traditional handmade embroidery of Tancheng. For example, in the embroidery pattern of the tiger-head hat, in addition to the traditional needlework, the "qi needle", "chanting needle", "zhen embroidery" (braided needle), "connecting needle" and other needlework of Lu embroidery are also used. Tancheng traditional handmade embroidery has complex embroidery methods and diverse patterns. It is a rare folk handicraft with strong local characteristics. The use of its needlework is complex, and it is a "work of skill" that requires patience and time. For example, the needlework "filling embroidery" is to fill the required pattern base with cotton, and then use a needle to lock the edge of the pattern lace to make the pattern convex and present a relief effect. Embroidery pattern Mainly composed of auspicious patterns such as various flowers and animals, its graphic designs are mostly derived from traditional Chinese patterns of praying for blessings, curing diseases, and bringing in wealth, implying good luck, health and peace. For example, tiger-head shoes and hats imply that the boy will be "powerful and powerful" when he grows up and will be able to succeed, inheriting the family's blessings and expectations for the child.
