The history of rattan weaving is long. The history of rattan weaving in Xizhazi Village can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty at least. Until the 1980s, the village still maintained the tradition of weaving rattan. Today, only 87-year-old He Wenqi and 80-year-old He Wenfu are left in Xizhazi to weave for their own use. In order to better inherit and protect this traditional handicraft, the village decided to let Lin Fengping, a villager with a certain foundation, as the inheritor. Rattan weaving records people's homesickness and engraves the lifestyle and emotions that people once shared. It has a strong and unique artistic style, implies cultural value, and carries the history of people using physical practice to perceive nature and society.
