The Oroqen people wear roe deer scalp hats, roe deer leather clothes and trousers, and roe deer leg leather boots. These leather clothes are practical and beautiful, with strong ethnic characteristics. The leather robes worn by the Oroqen people are basically the same for men and women, both with right-side lapels. The men's robes "Nilosuen" have slits in the front and back or left and right, and the women's leather robes are beautifully decorated. Hunting clothes in spring and autumn are shorter, reaching the knees. The roe deer fur in summer is very short and reddish, so it is also called red fur leather clothes. Wearing old winter clothes with the fur facing outwards on rainy days can keep out water. The leather pants worn by men only reach the knees and are fat at the waist. The trouser legs are folded up and tied with belts and stuffed into leather boots. When going out in the wild, you have to wear leather chaps outside. Leather chaps are made of wear-resistant deer and (犭+罕) skins, and the hair must be shaved off and tanned to be very soft. In this way, they are not only strong and wear-resistant, but also flexible and convenient when riding and hunting. Women's leather pants are long and slightly thinner than men's pants. They have a bellyband in front, and the waistband is folded forward from left to right and tied with a belt. This kind of pants is suitable for activities such as riding and gathering. The leather boots of the Oroqen people are made of leg skins of roe deer, deer, and (犭+罕) with strong bubble neck skin or wild boar skin, (犭+罕) skin, and bear skin as the bottom. They are made in different heights, thicknesses, and thicknesses according to different seasons. Wearing such leather boots for hunting is light and warm, and there is no sound when walking, which is not easy to alarm wild animals. The roe deer scalp hat "Mie Taha" is made of roe deer scalp in its original state. This is a hat that adults and children like to wear. It not only resists the severe cold, but also serves as a camouflage when hunting. It is a representative costume of the Oroqen people. The gloves suitable for hunting are "Kao Hu Luo", with the thumb and four fingers separated and the palm left. Usually the hand is inside, and when shooting, the hand is directly extended from the palm, which is very convenient. The five-finger gloves are exquisitely made and are often a token of love between men and women. The Oroqen people not only use leather to make clothes, boots and hats, but also quilts, sleeping bags for hunting and many other daily necessities. In order to effectively utilize the leather, they make the leftovers into beautiful leather bags, sachets, tobacco pouches, belts and hunting knife accessories. In recent years, due to the introduction of local policies to protect wild animals, this kind of clothing is very precious and they only wear it during festivals.
