🎧  Listen to Introduction

The legend of Naomugeng Mountain Naomugeng Mountain is like a huge pot, located in the hinterland of Durburt Grassland (Siziwang Banner). It is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and slopes towards the cliff on the north side, showing a bird's eye view. Standing in the northwest and looking out, you can see a large red sandalwood table floating in the blue and confusing sea of mirage, which is the flat-topped Naomugeng Mountain. Looking closer at the mountain, its shape is like a taut bow. In the southwest open space of Naomugeng Mountain, there is a peak like an arrow pointing straight to the sky. This is the Naomugeng Aobao that herders have worshipped as a sacred object for generations. According to legend, in ancient times, this place was still a wasteland occupied by a demon. Later, a warrior with great strength and superb martial arts came here. He saw that the water, grass and natural environment here were beautiful, and he could not allow the demon to do whatever he wanted for a long time, so he went to war with the demon. This demon has great magical powers and twelve heads. If you cut off one of them, it will grow two more. If you cut off all twelve of its heads, it will grow twenty-four more. The more you cut, the more it will grow. What should he do? The warrior was at a loss and in a dilemma. Suddenly, he felt extremely tired and fell asleep in the blink of an eye. It turned out that the god Tengri had told him in his dream that fire is the nemesis of demons. After waking up, the warrior used fire attack according to the method taught by the god Tengri, and finally burned the demon to death. Seeing that this beautiful grassland was seeing the new sun again, the warrior decided to settle down here. In order to suppress evil and avoid disasters, he laid the bow he carried with him flat on the grass and inserted the arrow into the grass. Later, the warrior's bow became the bow-shaped Naomugeng Mountain, and the arrow became Naomugeng Aobao. Later, the demon happened again in the north, and the warrior went out again to eliminate the harm for the people. Where he lived, people and livestock thrived. On the fifth, fifteenth, and twenty-fifth day of every lunar month, people would see a beautiful woman riding a unicorn, chasing sheep at dusk. The long collar of her Mongolian robe fluttered in the wind, like colorful clouds. The woman's singing shook the hills and moved people to tears until it disappeared in the increasingly heavy dusk: What a gentle feeling that is for the ewe who loves her lamb? What a painful waiting that is for the young girl who loves her spring? It is said that this beautiful girl is attached to the warrior and is waiting for his return. Since then, Naomugen Aobao has become spiritual. Many young men and women come here to worship and can get its blessings. Lovers can become dependents. According to legend, at dawn on the second day of the worship every year, when the morning star rises, there is always a golden colt neighing with its loud voice. Then the horses near and far respond together, forming a spectacular scene of thousands of horses neighing. This place has always enjoyed peace. (No pictures available, please provide them.)
