Shugu Mountain is located 75 kilometers south of Miyun City. It is also known as Shugu Xianchun and is one of the eight scenic spots outside Miyun. Shugu Mountain has beautiful scenery, many ancient temples and ruins, and many stories and legends. The cultural form of the Shugu Mountain area is relatively early in the Miyun area, which is determined by its geographical location, so the legends here have been passed down for a very long time. The earliest legend is that Zou Yan, a great Yin-Yang master of Qi during the Warring States Period, played the flute to fight the black wind monster, called for spring, and taught the people to recognize the five grains; later, there was a legend that Zhang Kan defeated the Huns in the Han Dynasty and reclaimed 8,000 hectares of rice fields; in the Tang Dynasty, there was a legend that Gai Suwen practiced flying knives to assassinate Tang Emperor Li Shimin; there was a legend that the great poet Chen Ziang named Wanghuaiding after visiting Shugu; in the Liao Dynasty, there was a record that Empress Xiao built the Hualin Tianzhu Palace; in the Jin Dynasty, there was a legend that Xiyan Temple and Fengtaiding were built; in the Ming Dynasty, there were a large number of poems and the legend of planting lotus in the fire at Huxi Bridge; in the Qing Dynasty, a Yishan Temple was built; during the Anti-Japanese War and the War of Liberation, there was a legend that the monk Benhe and the ancient ginkgo tree came back to life in spring; after liberation, there was a legend that the crosstalk master Hou Baolin traveled to Shugu Mountain, etc. The historical context is clear and the cultural heritage is rich, which is incomparable to other tourist attractions in our county. Many of the historical factors in the legends of Shugu Mountain are related to historical events or historical figures. For example, the legend of Zou Yan's battle with the Black Wind Monster confirms the fact that King Zhao of Yan built the Golden Terrace and worshipped Zou Yan, a Yin-Yang scholar from Qi, as his teacher. The legend that Zhang Kan defeated the Xiongnu and reclaimed 8,000 hectares of rice fields in Yuyang County provides a historical basis for the richness of this area. The legend of Gai Suwen practicing flying knives and the legend of the origin of the local village name are connected, proving that Emperor Tang Li Shimin did visit this area. Shugu Mountain is a religious holy place where Buddhism and Taoism are combined to occupy one mountain. In the legend of Shugu Mountain, there are "Lotus Planting in Fire" that does not kill and "Tiger Creek Bridge" that does not cross the Buddhist world, as well as a Yishan Temple that is good at solving thousands of worries and the legend of Feng Liding, which plays a certain role in promoting Buddhist and Taoist culture and promoting religious knowledge. In June 2007, it was approved by the Miyun County People's Government as the first batch of Miyun County-level intangible cultural heritage projects.
