Bowls of mutton is a traditional snack that originated in Yangjiao Town, Wulong, Chongqing. The traditional production technique of Wulong bowls of mutton uses high-quality local goat meat from natural pastures in the high-altitude mountainous areas of Baima Mountain and Xiannv Mountain in Wulong. The meat is tender and nutritious, can keep out the cold, replenish the body, and prevent diseases. It is a rare meat. It was first circulated in Yangjiao Town, Wulong District, and got its name because merchants packed mutton into bowls and sold them to low-income trackers and boatmen. The traditional production technique of Wulong bowls of mutton has been passed down for hundreds of years and has become a famous local specialty snack. It is widely circulated in Chongqing, Fuling, Pengshui, Shizhu, Qianjiang and other places. In 2019, it was included in the sixth batch of representative projects of Chongqing's intangible cultural heritage, and won many honors such as Chinese famous snacks and Chongqing landmark dishes.
