Twelve Tunes of Zhenfeng Bronze Drum
The Buyi bronze drum is one of the ancient percussion instruments of the Buyi people and is a precious national cultural heritage. It is made of bronze and is often played with suona, leather drums, cymbals, gongs and wooden sticks. It basically preserves the playing style of ancient musical instruments and has the national characteristics of the Buyi people. It is said that the bronze drum was made by the "Luoyue" branch of the ancient Baiyue, the ancestors of the Buyi people. Therefore, it is regarded as a family heirloom and a symbol of clan and religious unity by the Buyi people. They are revered as gods, and sacrificed and worshiped every year. The twelve tunes of the Buyi bronze drum originated in ancient times and spread in the Buyi settlements of Bantan Mountain, Dingqi Town, Dashan Township, Chengguan Town, Liuma Township, Shazi Township, Liangtian Township, and Muyi Township, and radiated to the surrounding Buyi areas such as Guanling Autonomous County, Liuzhi Special Zone, and Puding County, forming a Buyi folk bronze drum cultural circle covering several counties. The twelve tunes of the Buyi bronze drum are composed of "magpie tune", "scattering flower tune", "sacrifice drum tune", "ancestor worship tune", "three, six, nine tune", "sacrifice tune", "festive tune", etc. It is a national music that expresses the characteristics of the Buyi people in celebrations, ancestor worship, sacrifices and other rituals. Zhenfeng County is located in the eastern part of Qianxinan Buyi Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is a multi-ethnic area, in which there are more than 400 natural villages where the Buyi people live. The Buyi people in Zhenfeng call the twelve tunes of bronze drum "the twelve tunes of bronze drum". The Buyi people have no written language, and the "twelve tunes of bronze drum" are passed down in a family way, from generation to generation through oral transmission. As an important part of national culture and regional culture, bronze drums have always been associated with the life and cultural style of the Buyi people. Many ancient musical instruments in Chinese history disappeared with the changes of the times, but the bronze drum music culture in the Buyi area has been passed down and preserved to this day. The twelve tunes of bronze drums are a treasure trove of rich ancient music works and ancient music information. The development of modern economy and technology and the impact of foreign culture have led to a rapid change in people's aesthetic style. The Bronze Drum Tune of the Buyi ethnic group, which has been passed down since ancient times, is now rarely known and difficult to arouse the interest of young people. The inheritance of the Bronze Drum Tune is in an endangered state and urgently needs to be rescued and protected. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
