The Qing Girl Festival is held on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month every year. On this day, Bai women from Diannan, Yangcen and other places in Jianchuan County all participate in the event. They donate money, gather together, and specially ask someone to make a Qing Girl idol, dress her in Bai ethnic costumes, lift her to the swing frame, and everyone dances and sings around her for entertainment, and then goes to the Haiwei River to hold a memorial ceremony. In the evening, one person holds the "Qing Girl" idol as a guide, and the women follow, walking around the streets of the village, singing the narrative long song "Qing Girl" while walking. Then they return to the village venue and swing with "Qing Girl" until late at night. Finally, "Qing Girl" is sent into the Haiwei River. Legend has it that the Qing Girl Festival of Jianchuan Bai women is to commemorate the ancient Qing Girl. Qing Girl is smart and beautiful. Her parents died when she was young. She became a child bride in a family. She was responsible for heavy housework in her husband's family and suffered all kinds of abuse from her mother-in-law. One day, her sister-in-law instigated her husband to beat Qing girl. Qing girl was forced into a corner and jumped into the Haiwei River to commit suicide. This day happened to be the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. Bai women commemorated her on this day to oppose feudal ethics and the memory of Qing girl. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
