Torch Festival is a traditional festival of the Lisu people in Dehong, which is held on the 24th and 25th day of the sixth lunar month every year. The Lisu people have a special interest in celebrating Torch Festival. On this day, the village is bustling with people wearing festive costumes with happy faces, reuniting with their families, slaughtering pigs and sheep, talking about everything, talking about the past and the present, drinking wine, singing and dancing, everyone talks about unity, and every household blesses each other. On this day, when the tired birds return to the forest and the sunset is on the mountain, people light torches from inside to outside the house, from inside to outside the yard to burn the pests. The torches swing left and right and dance up and down. The elderly danced with torches and chanted: "Burn fleas, burn mice, burn demons, burn all harmful insects!" Then, the old man took the torch to light the fruit trees and chanted: "Bloom! Bear fruit! Let people harvest!" Everyone shouted: "Bloom! Bear fruit! The mountains are full of flowers and fruits, and the warehouses are full of grain!" At night, the fire pit was brightly lit, and people happily danced the reed pipe dance and the three-string dance. They held hands and sang the folk narrative poem "Torch Festival Tune". This tune is also called "Half-year Production Tune", and its content summarizes the production experience of half a year. At this time, the crops sown in spring and harvested in summer, such as buckwheat, potatoes, etc., have matured and been harvested. People sang the harvest drum and danced all night long.
