Zhangping City is located in the central and southern Fujian, the eastern part of western Fujian, and the northern end of the southern Fujian Golden Triangle. It is known as "nine mountains, half water and half farmland". The city is located on the southern edge of the subtropical zone, with a subtropical monsoon climate, warm and humid, with sufficient rainfall, no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer. The annual average temperature is 16.9-20.7, the precipitation is 1450-2100 mm, the frost-free period is 251-317 days, and the average sunshine hours over the years are 1853 hours, which is conducive to the multi-ripening of crops and the rapid growth of trees, and suitable for the growth and breeding of various animals and plants. It provides favorable natural conditions for the production of tea. Zhangping Narcissus tea has a long history and profound tea culture. Tea planting began in the Yuan Dynasty, and it had a considerable scale in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and there were special tea processing workshops. The purple clay teapots of the Ming Dynasty unearthed in the territory show that Kung Fu tea and tea drinking culture were popular in Zhangping a long time ago. In 1914, Deng Guanjin, a tea master from Shuangyangzhong Village, Zhangping, created the unique tea cake Narcissus in the world with his original craftsmanship. Among the dozens of oolong tea varieties produced in Zhangping, it is a standout. On May 27, 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China officially approved the implementation of the geographical indication protection of "Zhangping Narcissus Tea".
