There were celadon in the Song Dynasty, blue and white porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty, coarse porcelain in the Ming Dynasty, and purple pottery in the Qing Dynasty. Jianshui purple pottery is a traditional handicraft of Jianshui County, Yunnan Province. The firing technique of Jianshui purple pottery has a long history, which began in the late Yuan Dynasty and has a history of more than 900 years. In 2008, it was selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list in my country. The firing technique of Jianshui purple pottery is exquisite. The raw materials contain special minerals, which can present purple or maroon color after production. The main processes include mud processing, shaping, firing, kiln exit, polishing, etc. The shaping is completely done by hand-throwing method. After the basic shape is made, various three-dimensional decorations are generally pasted on the surface, and various patterns are carved out, and then the carved grooves are filled with white mud. Due to its good texture and strong artistry, it has the reputation of "body like iron, sound like chimes, bright like water, and bright like brocade". The unique charm of Jianshui purple pottery lies in the organic combination of calligraphy and painting art with carving and filling mud technology. Jianshui purple pottery is mainly made by engraving calligraphy and painting, and inlaying with colored clay, integrating calligraphy and painting, stone carving, inlay and other decorative arts. Since the Qing Dynasty, the literati and scholars of Jianshui have used semi-dry pottery as paper, transferred calligraphy and painting to the pottery, and splashed ink freely. After the ink was applied to the pottery, the artists carefully carved the ink into a mold according to the pattern, and then filled it with colored clay, repaired the pottery, air-dried it, put it into the kiln for baking, and polished it in batches, so that the Jianshui purple pottery presents a mottled texture change, producing an ancient and colorful atmosphere of stone. With its unique "residual stickers" and "light and gorgeous" decorative techniques, the ancient Jianshui pottery art is transformed into a magical touch, which not only retains the charm of the famous artists' brushwork, but also takes into account the characteristics of the pottery in different curved surfaces and wet states.
