Changyang Folk Songs
Changyang folk songs were called "barbarian songs and dances" and "Xia Li Ba Ren" more than 3,000 years ago. Many traces of them were left in the place names in the county, such as "Duiwu Creek", "Singing Ping", "Luogu Tang", "Fage Cen", etc. Changyang folk songs are widely circulated in all towns and villages in the county. So far, more than 1,400 Changyang folk songs have been collected, which are divided into two types: singing while producing in the fields and singing while beating gongs and drums while working. Changyang folk songs have many singing forms and various musical structures, such as solo, duet, one person leading the singing, and many people singing. There are also many types of Changyang folk songs, among which the trumpet type and the gong and drum tune type are the majority, followed by minor tunes and folk songs reflecting weddings and funerals. The trumpet type is divided into mountain trumpets and water trumpets. Among the mountain trumpets, there are one-tone trumpets, two-tone trumpets, three-tone trumpets, and even nine-tone trumpets, as well as miscellaneous trumpets, chasing trumpets, and wearing trumpets. Water trumpets are divided into Qingjiang (shipping) trumpets and rafting trumpets. Changyang folk songs are divided into production-related songs, such as gong and drum songs, firewood-cutting songs, and horse-driving songs. Among them, gong and drum songs are rich in content, the most interesting, and the most enthusiastic. They are the most influential type of Changyang folk songs. Gong and drum songs are divided into "weeding gong and drum" and "rice-planting gong and drum". In the past, whenever weeding or rice-planting seasons came, playing gongs and drums became an indispensable program for mountain people to compete for the season. For example, when weeding, four gong and drum craftsmen stood at the head of the field facing a row of weeders. When the gongs and drums sounded, the singer sang, and the sorghum field suddenly became lively. There are complete sets of lyrics for weeding gong and drum songs. Generally, they sing about ancient people in the morning, flower names at noon, and marriages and love between men and women in the afternoon and evening. They are humorous, humorous, labor-saving, and knowledge imparting. It is artistic and ornamental. For example, there is a "five-sentence" love song: "Peaches are not as sweet as plums, and the man's mouth is not as sweet as my sister's. We kissed each other in June last year, and it is still sweet in June this year. The new and old have been sweet for two or three years." Another example is a "miscellaneous song": "The man is a sorghum stalk, and the sister is a loofah vine. They are entangled up and down, entangled down and up. Although it is not a big deal, it entangles the man's soul." The gong and drum tunes are only the field song tunes sung when planting rice or weeding. They are complex and have many names. The gong and drum songs for weeding are high-pitched and loud, with rich tunes, including five-sentence, threading, miscellaneous, and singing. There is a saying among the people that "nine boards and thirteen tunes" and "twenty-four flower tunes". The mastery of these tunes is often one of the standards for measuring the ability of a gong and drum master. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
