Tianmen Folk Songs
Tianmen folk songs are Han folk music in Hubei Province. They have been selected into the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. They have a glorious history. According to their origins, Huangmei, Yingshan and other counties in the east of Hubei are close to Anhui, and have a little bit of Anhui's tone; Enshi, Yichang and other places in the west are close to Sichuan, and have a little bit of Sichuan flavor; Xiangyang and Yunyang in the north are adjacent to Henan, and have a little bit of Henan accent; Shishou, Jianli and other places in the south are adjacent to Hunan, and have more or less Hunan flavor; and the purest and most authentic Hubei folk songs are the folk songs in Tianmen, Qianjiang and Mianyang areas in the Jianghan Plain in the hinterland of Hubei. The musical styles of the three places are extremely similar. People in the circle often regard this as the essence of pure Hubei folk songs. Therefore, Tianmen folk songs occupy a pivotal position in Hubei folk songs. Tianmen is located in Jingshan and Jingmen in the north and Hanshui in the south. It is close to Xiantao and Qianjiang. It has a long history, splendid culture, convenient transportation, and a prosperous population. The Han folk music materials are extremely rich. After liberation, batches of musicians who love national folk music collected, compiled, published and distributed Tianmen folk songs, which had a great impact on Tianmen folk songs. In addition, a group of singers headed by Jiang Guiying and many folk singers have performed and promoted Tianmen folk songs, making Tianmen folk songs occupy an important place in Hubei. Teacher Jiang Guiying sang Tianmen folk songs to Beijing three times and sang for the leaders of the party and the country in Zhongnanhai. After listening to "Happiness Song", Chairman Mao praised Jiang Guiying repeatedly: "Good! Good! It's as good as Hunan Flower Drum Opera!" Since then, Tianmen folk songs have spread across the country. The influence of the classic opera "Honghu Red Guards" has made the status of Tianmen folk songs reach its peak. Interestingly, the theme song of "Honghu Red Guards" "Honghu Water, Waves" is not a Honghu folk song, let alone a Xiangfan folk song. It is an authentic Tianmen folk song. "Honghu Water, Waves" is very similar to "Xianghe Ballad" created by musician Mr. Wu Qun in the early 1950s. The melody of "Honghu Water, Waves" is completely based on "Xianghe Ballad" with embellishments and variations, and "Xianghe Ballad" has a close blood relationship with Tianmen traditional folk songs such as "Moon Viewing Man". In fact, when the Hubei Provincial Opera Troupe was creating "Honghu Red Guards", it went to the Tianmen Flower Drum Troupe to learn flower drum opera music and Tianmen folk songs and collect music materials for more than a month. Tianmen City, located in the Jianghan Plain, is known as the "hometown of culture" and Han folk songs and dances are very popular. As early as the Tang Dynasty more than a thousand years ago, Lu Yu, who was born in Jingling, Tianmen, was famous for his immortal monograph "The Classic of Tea". Lu Yu was also an artist and had directed some songs, dances and dramas. Some Han folk music in Tianmen City today has the remnants of court music, which I think has a lot to do with Lu Yu. Of course, whether it was really passed down by Lu Yu still needs to be verified. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the Jingling School headed by Zhong Xing and Tan Yuanchun was unique in the literary world. The brilliant Tianmen culture has a long history. On this land with rich cultural accumulation, countless Tianmen folk songs were born. For example, "Happiness Song", "Honghu Water, Waves", "He Lao Zong is Coming to Tianmen", etc., are still sung today. When talking about Tianmen folk songs, people probably only know a few songs such as "Water Car Love Song", "Happiness Song", "Pulling Cucumbers", etc., and not many people know that the opening song played by the former Hubei People's Broadcasting Station every day was adapted from the Tianmen folk song "Da Hu Cao". In recent years, many Tianmen folk songs with distinct characteristics of the times have emerged in Tianmen, and Tianmen folk songs have created glory again. "Dragon Drying Clothes on the Sixth Day of the Sixth Month" and "Sister's Heart Follows Brother" were selected by the Hubei Provincial Art Troupe as foreign cultural exchange programs to be performed in Germany, and Tianmen folk songs have gone to the world. In October 2005, "Happiness Song" was arranged and sung by a professional art troupe in Hubei Province and broadcast by the CCTV "Quyi Miscellaneous Talk" column. In the classic old song competition organized by the provincial TV station not long ago, "Tianmen is Coming to He Laozong" won the first place in the Tianmen competition area. This Tianmen folk song created 30 years ago was praised by Jiao Dexiu, Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, as "This is the most beautiful artistic enjoyment" during the provincial art meeting. Television and radio stations competed to broadcast, publications competed to publish, and counties and cities across the province came to Tianmen to learn, which was a grand occasion. At a party in the late 1970s, a rare scene appeared. The charm of Tianmen folk songs was infinite and passed down as a good story. The Tianmen County Cultural Work Team performed a female performance of "He Lao Zong Came to Tianmen". As soon as the song ended, the audience applauded. At this time, a 1 from the Shenyang Military Region sitting in the front row was very excited. He stood up and said loudly to the audience: "Comrades, what do you think?" The audience said in unison: "Yes!" 1 asked again: "Do you want to do it again?" Everyone said: "Yes!" So the actors returned to the stage and performed from beginning to end, and the audience applauded for a long time. The beauty of Tianmen folk songs can be seen. Tianmen folk songs are so beautiful and so beautiful that they make people have endless aftertaste. The nationally popular "Honghu Water, Waves and Waves" comes from the Tianmen folk song "Moon Viewing Man". And the traditional folk song "Little Son-in-law" named Hubei folk song is also sung all over the country. "The Son-in-Law" has also been exported, and many foreigners also like to sing it. There are "low-browed" folk songs in Tianmen, but there are also many "high-browed" ones. "Four Seasons of Longing" is a folk song with elegant style, beautiful lyrics and music, and poetic and picturesque artistic conception. In the song "Longing in Autumn", it is sung like this: "In autumn, longing for the sweet-scented osmanthus flowers are floating, and the cold insects are calling low and high, which makes me anxious. The beauty sits alone, with worries on her eyebrows. The drizzle sprinkles in front of the window. Who is playing the jade flute? How can a sad person listen to the sad tune? My lover is away, separated by mountains and rivers. Suddenly, I hear a lonely goose calling outside the door. I have a love letter, I have a love letter, who can bring it to me? My lover, I love you, people don't know but God knows." The lyrics use "cold insects", "drizzle", "lone goose", "jade flute" and other words to set off, revealing from the bottom of my heart the sadness and pain of a foolish woman missing her lover in autumn. The melody is even more euphemistic, like crying and complaining, sad and moving. The new era and new life have given new vitality to Tianmen folk songs. The inheritance and development of folk songs have also gone through different stages of creation. In the 1950s and 1960s, there were many new lyrics based on the tunes of old folk songs. In the 1970s, new folk songs based on folk music materials dominated. During this period, excellent folk songs emerged one after another, such as "He Laozong is coming to Tianmen" and "Hanbei has a happy river", which were deeply loved by the masses and had a far-reaching influence. From the 1980s to the 1990s, folk song writers kept pace with the times and wrote many lyrics praising the new era and singing new life. In combination with the characteristics of the lyrics, the composers not only used Tianmen folk song materials, but also absorbed modern pop songs and foreign music materials, and wrote a large number of influential and popular new folk songs. For example, "Fishermen's Songs Singing Golden Autumn" written by Zeng Tengfang and composed by Yu Yin, and "The Most Loved Homeland in Life" written by Wen Qing and composed by Yu Yin, are widely spread throughout the province. A number of Tianmen folk songs, such as "Flying Kites", "Dragon Drying Clothes on the Sixth Day of the Sixth Month", and "Sister's Heart Follows Brother", have gone abroad and have been sung in France, Austria and other countries. Tianmen folk songs are deeply rooted in the fertile soil of people's lives. It can be said that they are deep-rooted, flourishing, and fruitful. As a folk song sings: "Singing is not a crazy thing for people, but also passed on by the ancients of the previous dynasty. One person passed it on to three, three, and nine, and the sea of songs gradually became deeper." Because of the generations of singing, the sea of songs has further achieved the realm of beautiful words and beautiful tunes. Special mention is the new folk song, which sings the new voice of the Tianmen people, the rhythm of the times, and the melody of inheriting modern civilization. It is a flower of spiritual civilization blooming on the hot land of Tianmen. We believe that Tianmen folk songs will definitely exude an attractive fragrance and will definitely bear fruitful fruits of civilization! (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
