Such as seven women giving birth, the number one scholar parading in the streets, Mu Guiying taking command, and the three sworn brothers in the peach garden. This pattern does not follow the rules and has no specific regulations. It is entirely up to the artist to increase or decrease the number of people and stitches at will, but it does not deviate from the unique program naturally formed by the folk, and produces a unique composition effect. A picture is a story, a picture is a piece of history. This extremely rare and unique form of artistic expression was created in Huangmei because Huangmei is a hometown of opera. In Huangmei rural areas, everyone can sing the famous Huangmei Opera, and every family sings it. After years of exposure, some opera stories with strong tendencies have been familiar to people. People need to express their love and hate, and need to place their ideals, but the general pattern composition method can no longer fully express the author's inner feelings about beauty, so this kind of storyline pattern form was created based on personal experience and feelings. Huangmei embroidery works also express people's emotions and place their ideals through patterns and words. Some patterns and words contain various different meanings. Here are a few. 1. Year after year of surplus, and enough food and clothing. In Huangmei embroidery, "fish" is a homophone of "surplus", which means abundance and surplus. "Carp" is a homophone of "profit surplus", which means "auspicious surplus". Some people connect "fish" and "lotus" together, taking the homophony of "lotus" and "fish", implying that there will be surpluses year after year. "Dragon" is a totem worshipped by our ancestors. In Huangmei embroidery, the myth that "dragon" can call the wind and rain is used to imply that people will have good weather and good harvest after conquering nature. 2. Loyal love and happy marriage. In addition to using "mandarin ducks" to imply that couples will never separate and love each other like other folk arts, Huangmei embroidery also has many unique forms of expression of meaning. For example, carp, magpie, and egret are regarded as male, and phoenix, lotus, and plum blossom are regarded as female, and they are combined into "dragon and phoenix", "carp wearing lotus", "magpie climbing plum", "egret playing with lotus", etc., implying a beautiful life and a bright future of loving couples and growing old together. In Huangmei embroidery, some works simply use direct narrative techniques to clearly express the meaning of the desire for a happy marriage and family. For example, in the "Wedding Picture", more than 20 figures are connected in four rows in the shape of "S". The front row is led by a canopy, red lanterns and colorful flags, followed by three sedan chairs. According to Huangmei customs, the first sedan chair is the matchmaker, the second sedan chair is the bride, and the third sedan chair is the groom. The band behind is the wedding band. The warm atmosphere of gongs, drums and firecrackers vividly implies people's blessings for sweet love, happy marriage and happy family. 3. Exorcise evil spirits and suppress monsters, and bring wealth and happiness. In the Huangmei embroidery patterns, a large number of animals that people admire and respect, such as dragons, phoenixes, lions and tigers, are used, implying the exorcism of diseases and disasters, peace and good fortune, wealth and happiness, and family prosperity. For example, the lion is the king of beasts and has the supreme power to subdue demons and suppress evil spirits; the tiger can generate power and has strong vitality; the dragon is the totem of the Chinese nation and can call the wind and rain; the phoenix represents auspiciousness. In ancient times, there was a saying that "the phoenix will not fall into a place without treasures". There are also many plants with auspicious meanings that are used in Huangmei embroidery, such as lotus, which means many children; lotus with two stems, which symbolizes harmonious feelings between husband and wife and a happy marriage. 3. Rigorous layout and rich in changes Huangmei embroidery patterns are very rigorous in overall layout, but strive for changes in symmetry. The clever women and girls living in the countryside, with their own life experience and feelings of a better life, with their own talents and wisdom, have created various forms of composition, including dignified axial symmetry structure, novel diamond structure, diagonal structure, scattered point structure and regular trapezoidal structure. A complete colorful square scarf is composed of round flowers, side flowers, corner flowers and filling flowers, with the central round flowers as the main ones. Rotating, centripetal, radial and diagonal structures are often used to form a pattern of infinite changes in the square with a circle and a circle with a square, making the picture balanced, full and lively. In a short distance, you can see the heaven and the earth, mortals and gods, etiquette and customs, flowers and birds, with extremely rich content, breaking the boundaries of time and space, and generating infinite reverie. 4. Emphasis on spirit, romantic and abstract There is no realistic work in Huangmei embroidery. All the scenes shown in Huangmei embroidery works are between right and wrong, between gods and people. It pursues spirit rather than form, focuses on freehand brushwork, focuses on vividness rather than realism, and becomes a sacred object shared by humans and gods. Its works have a strong expansion and penetration power on people's thinking and imagination. 5. Pursuit of goodness and beauty, auspicious meaning Huangmei embroidery works all reflect the love of ancient Chinese working people for nature and the pursuit of a beautiful and happy life. Whether it is characters, stories, animals, plants, or digital layout, they all reflect goodness and beauty, and auspicious meaning. For example, works reflecting life imply more than enough food and clothing; works reflecting marriage imply happy loyalty and a long life together; works reflecting career imply smooth and prosperous, rich and auspicious. Even the numbers in the works represent auspiciousness, such as "five sons pass the imperial examinations", "seven sons reunion", "long life", etc. 6. Clear colors and elegant style Huangmei embroidery originated from the folks. Farmers and village girls are both the makers and users of embroidery works. In the embroidery patterns they created, "all forms of beauty are based on personal experience of a specific emotion". Every pattern and every pattern is filled with the maker's heartfelt emotions and experience of life. In plastic arts, color is the easiest way to express emotions. In this respect, Huangmei embroidery is similar to other arts. However, it also has its own special personality. In terms of color processing, except for a very small number of single-color embroidery, most of them are embroidery with colored threads. Huangmei embroidery uses green coarse cloth as the background color, white as the basic framework, and bright red, pink, water red, and light red as the main colors, with orange and light yellow, forming the warm tone of the work. It is sometimes embellished with some cool colors such as lake blue and general green, making the whole work beautiful but not frivolous, warm but not dry, and harmonious in complexity. It not only strengthens the color contrast, but also enriches the level of change. In addition, most of the works use deep and rich royal blue as the background color, the fine craftsmanship, and the simple patterns make the whole work gorgeous and solemn, colorful and fresh, calm and smooth, giving people a feeling of elegance, simplicity and holiness.
