Folk songs are one of the earliest and most vital art forms in human history. They are the crystallization of the wisdom and talent of the working people. In the long process of human social development, people use folk songs as an art form to express their joys, sorrows, joys, sorrows, ups and downs, and express their feelings about social life. Mahe Town is located in the northwest of Jingmen, at the source of Zhanghe River, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the water on one side. It is connected to Lixi in the east, Zhanghe in the south, Dangyang and Yuan'an in the west, and Nanzhang in the north. The people here are hardworking and brave, simple and honest, smart and optimistic. For thousands of years, in the struggle for labor life and survival, they have created a large number of folk songs. These songs from their hearts are the expression of their true feelings, weapons of struggle, orders of labor, media of love, tools of entertainment, and an indispensable part of their lives. Mahe folk songs are rich in themes, vivid in language, beautiful in tune, and diverse in form. They mainly include field songs, minor tunes, festival songs, and folk songs. Field songs include "rice planting songs" and "grass pulling songs". Singing during work can adjust the spirit of workers, improve work efficiency, and play a role in relieving boredom, refreshing and encouraging to a great extent. I believe that in the process of work, with such heartfelt songs accompanying people, people's enthusiasm for work must be very high. Minor tunes reflect a wide range of life, but mainly love themes. Its expression forms are rich and diverse, often with themes of "Four Seasons" and "December", popular and vivid, and very popular among the masses. Minor tunes have a square structure, beautiful and delicate tunes, gentle and pleasant, and strong vitality. The characteristics of this type of folk songs are that most of the lyrics are auspicious, with the meaning of blessing and congratulation; the tunes are cheerful and lively, and the atmosphere is festive. Folk songs reflect the traditional customs and habits of the people of Mahe. When there are red and white weddings and traditional festivals, it is a good time for people to sing and listen to songs together. There are songs for welcoming the new year and funerals. When holding funerals for the elderly, playing funeral drums and singing filial songs are the most common. On the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, there are lotus picking boats, clam spirits, and stilt walking everywhere. There are four types of singing styles when playing the lotus boat: Siping tune, Zhanhuaqiang tune, Liangshan tune, and Daqiang tune. Folk songs are the songs of the working people themselves. They originated from the folks, were sung among the folks, and were passed down from generation to generation. Information source: Dongbao District Government (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
