Zheng Wang Lyrics and Music
Zheng Wang Ciqu is the collective name of "Zheng Wang Ci" and "Zheng Wang Qu". It is a collection of Ciqu written by Zhu Zaiyu, a world-renowned science and art star in the Ming Dynasty, based on the court music and drawing on the essence of folk art. "Zheng Wang Ci" has multiple versions such as "Zheng Wang Ci", "Qingli Ci", "Xingshi Ci", and "Chuan of Crazy Monks". It contains nearly 180 poems and lyrics by Zhu Zaiyu, about 35,000 words. The content includes 10 categories such as expressing feelings, exhorting, prohibiting, encouraging, sighing, joking, and transcending. It is written in the colloquial language of the lanes and alleys in the ancient Huaiqing Prefecture, which is popular and catchy. The many dialects used in the Ci make it feel intimate when reading. Among them, such as persuading scholars, persuading farmers, persuading to do business, abstaining from singing, not being unruly, and warning young people, etc., are still very helpful from the perspective of modern people. "Zheng Wang Qu" refers to the Gongche Pu, which Zhu Zaiyu extensively absorbed the essence of folk music art, listened to performances, recorded music scores, repeatedly revised and created, identified the tunes, and then was copied and handed down by various music associations. Gongche Pu includes 63 different tunes. It includes ci tunes, opera tunes, instrumental tunes, ten drum tunes, palace tunes, sanqu, time tunes, songs and other categories. There are two characteristics: one is to draw on the past and innovate, which is convenient for widespread application and inheritance in popular folk songs, folk art, opera and instrumental activities. The second is that the phonetic characters, fonts, palace tone positions, and singing names of Gongche Pu are different from the Tang Dynasty's Daqupu, the Song Dynasty's Suzipu and the later popular Gongche Pu, and the score characters are written in regular and cursive scripts. There are 52 different tunes in Zhu Zaiyu's Gongche Pu, including "Yu Jiaozi", "Qingtian Ge", "Huanmen Disciple", "Wusheng Fo", etc., and the remaining 11 are also used as ci tunes by Zhu Zaiyu. "Zheng Wang Ci Qu" was popular in the vast areas of ancient Huaiqing and southeastern Shanxi, and only engraved and copied versions have been handed down. As for recitation and performance, in addition to the Huaibang Opera Troupe and folk suona bands retaining some of the lyrics and songs, they are also performed in the form of flower drums, dry boats, drum circles, and folk festivals. "Zheng Wang Ci Qu" entertains people and awakens the world. It has been sung among the people for more than 400 years. In February 2007, "Zheng Wang Ci Qu" was announced by the Henan Provincial People's Government as the first batch of representative projects of Henan Province's intangible cultural heritage.
