Shuanghe Yi Township, Jinning County, Kunming City has 2,505 households and 9,172 people, of which 7,138 are Yi people, accounting for 75.85% of the total population. Yanglao Drum, also known as Flower Drum, is said to have been introduced from other places. Yanglao Drum Dance is a folk dance of the Han and Yi ethnic groups that combines self-entertainment and performance. It is often performed during folk festivals and funerals, accompanied by percussion instruments. When dancing, the left hand holds the edge of the drum or a towel, the right hand holds the hammer and beats the drum up and down, and the feet suck in the legs and jump, with steps such as facing the flower, rubbing the back and changing positions. The whole dance is majestic and vigorous, with an uplifting and enterprising mood. There are two types of Yanglao drum in Shuanghe Township: "tight drum" and "ban drum". Tight drum has a deep rhythm and rough movements, emphasizing the movement of the feet. The feet alternate and change the movements according to different routines, using pedaling, kicking, stomping, circling, jumping and other movements to express joyful emotions; ban drum is a combination of rigidity and flexibility, using flexion and extension, squatting and jumping, and big flipping to express calm emotions. Shuanghe Township has collected more than 20 sets of tight drum jumping methods and more than 10 sets of ban drum jumping methods. The Yanglao drum dance in Shuanghe Township has been passed down from generation to generation and is very popular. Among the 27 natural villages in the township, each village has three or four drum teams, and as few as one or two. There are 102 drum teams in the township, with a total of 816 people. The spread of Yanglao drum takes Shuanghe as the center point and radiates to the entire central Yunnan region. More and more people can dance drums, presenting a prosperous scene. For example, Tianba Village has a total of 226 households and 865 people. There are 6 masters who can dance various routines and preside over various ceremonies, and 205 literary and artistic backbones. During the festival, there are as many as 100 to 500 people in the village participating in the drum dance, ranging in age from 15 to 75. The Yanglao drum team of Shuanghe Township won the gold medal in the "Shanhua Cup Juyongguan Chinese Drum Dance Competition" held in Beijing in 2001, won the first place in the traditional sports competition at the 7th Kunming Agricultural Games in 2002, and won the first place in the National Folk Drum Dance Competition hosted by Kunming in 2005.
