Jizhong Shengguan music is spread in nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin, and north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is a unique type of wind music in the Jizhong Plain. It is commonly known as "concert" by the people. Because it is mainly played by pipes and ensembled with sheng, it is also called "shengguan music". In addition to wind instruments such as sheng, pipes, and flutes, the instruments used in Jizhong Shengguan music also include percussion instruments such as cloud gongs, drums, cymbals, cymbals, and clangs. The music of Shengguan music is divided into three categories: suites, ditties, and independent sets of percussion music. Among them, suites are long in length and complex in structure, and are the main component of the entire performance repertoire. Jizhong Shengguan music is spread throughout the Jizhong Plain. Farmers in this area use music to gather in villages, play in local folk activities such as sacrifices and funerals, and pass it down from generation to generation in their own unique way. Lidongzhuang Music Association is spread in Lidongzhuang Village, Wen'an County, Langfang City, Hebei Province. It originated from the temple music of the Ming Dynasty. During the Jiajing period, the abbot of the Guanyin Temple in Lidongzhuang Village taught Buddhist music to the villagers. Since then, it has been passed down in the village and has a history of more than 500 years. During the concert, the musicians sit around a long table, with the pipe holder in the middle, playing percussion instruments alone. During the ensemble, the drum is in the middle, and the cymbals, cymbals, gongs, and small cymbals sit on both sides of the drummer. When playing the "Pipa Ling" and "Ci Cao" and other transposed tunes (also known as "back tune"), the instrument is basically not changed. This back tune is rare in Hebei Province. The orchestra composition of the concert has not been fixed since the middle and late Qing Dynasty. It generally includes 2 pipes, 1 flute, at least 10 shengs, 1 gong, 1 small cymbal, and drums, cymbals, cymbals, cymbals, cymbals, and cymbals. The sheng wind instrument leads the band to play, and the number of shengs is not limited. The pipe is the main instrument, and other instruments play along with the pipe. Among the percussion instruments, the drum leads the other instruments. Among the existing repertoires in Lidong Village, the big suites include "Da Zou Ma", "Jin Tang Music", "Four Seasons Goose Man", "Qing Chui Shanpo Yang", "Guan Gong Ci Cao", the back tune "Guan Gong Ci Cao", "Yu Furong", "Ku Cheng", "Tao Jun Ling", "Zhang Gong Cha Zi", "Liu Shui San Gui Zan", etc., and the small songs include "Shandong Song", "Dripping Money", "Xian Zi Ling", "Pipa Ling" and the back tune "Pipa Ling", "Xian Zi Ling", etc. The Lidong Village Music Association is mainly performed on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, temple fairs and funerals. It has a rich repertoire, complete suites, superb musicians, and a relatively strict inheritance method. Since the inheritance of the concert has always been carried out in a relatively closed state, it has been preserved in its original state to this day, providing valuable materials for the study of traditional Buddhist music and folklore in my country. Today, the musicians in Lidongzhuang are aging rapidly, and young people are unwilling to learn traditional art. Therefore, the inheritance of concerts has become a major problem. Relevant parties need to take measures to carry out active protection work around this traditional folk music.
