The construction skills of Longxi Zhu's Ancestral Hall (the second batch of provincial level) Longxi Zhu's Ancestral Hall covers an area of 2,583 square meters. It has three entrances: the front hall, the middle hall, and the back hall. It has a stage, a horse-racing building, various halls, wing rooms, and "Chongde" and "Baogong" bedrooms. It is fully functional and well-arranged. The whole building brings together various architectural skills from Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Anhui. The technical content and content involved in the stone carvings and wood carvings in the building components are very regional. Longxi Zhu's Ancestral Hall has preserved the folk woodworking legacy since the Song Dynasty. Most of the ancestral halls are wooden structures, which can be regarded as a model of ancient wooden house construction. The reasons are: first, the wood is locally sourced, cheap and easy to carry. As recorded in the "Langfeng Zhu's Genealogy": "The required materials are selected and cut down by the public for the ancient trees at the mouth of the tomb and the water"; second, Longxi is located in the hinterland of the mountains, with inconvenient transportation, and the construction of craftsmen is inherited from generation to generation, so the ancient buildings in the whole village all use ancient traditional construction techniques and have been passed down. The architectural style of Longxi Zhu's Ancestral Hall reflects the traditional Ming and Qing architectural model. In terms of exterior wall treatment, beam structure, and even the carvings, decorations, and paintings of architectural components, it expresses the traditional artistic style of Jiangnan ancient architecture. From the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Longxi Zhu's Ancestral Hall shows the development trajectory of Jiangnan architecture. It is an early and basically well-preserved building among the ancient buildings in Guangfeng County. It provides precious physical materials for the study of Jiangnan politics, economy, culture, art, religion, ethnicity, and architectural history during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 2008, the construction skills of Longxi Zhu's Ancestral Hall were selected into the second batch of intangible cultural heritage list of Jiangxi Province.
