"On the second day of the second lunar month, the dragon raises its head, the big warehouse is full and the small warehouse is flowing", this is a folk song popular among the Yi people. On March 12, the town of Nisu in Mengzi was very lively. The annual Yi traditional dragon festival was held as scheduled, but this year's dragon festival was unusual and particularly attractive, attracting thousands of tourists from all over the world to gather together and enjoy a unique food and cultural feast. There is such a saying among the people that the second day of the second lunar month is the day when the Dragon King, who is in charge of clouds and rain in the sky, raises his head. From then on, the rain will gradually increase, the earth will gradually recover, and the production and labor of the new year will begin. The traditional Yi Dragon Festival is held on this day. The dragon worship activity is presided over by the respected male elders in the village as the "dragon head". The whole village stops agricultural activities and kills pigs to worship the dragon tree. The dragon tree is generally a large tree in the village or near the village selected by the villagers. Once selected, it will be the dragon tree forever. Through the dragon worship ceremony, they pray for good weather and good harvest in the coming year, which fully expresses the local villagers' beautiful vision of praying for good weather and good harvest. At the same time, village rules and folk agreements are formulated to warn villagers to abide by the village rules, respect the elderly and love the young, and work hard. It is understood that the Yi people in Nisu Town belong to the Nisu Po branch, and have always continued the traditional Yi folk custom of worshiping dragons on the second day of the second month. The dragon worship activities in Nisu Town on that day were divided into two parts: the dragon worship ceremony and the dragon worship banquet. At the dragon sacrifice ceremony, local villagers showed the traditional dragon sacrifice ceremony of the Yi people of Nisu to the tourists who came to participate in the dragon sacrifice. It was divided into 9 parts, including ranking the dragon sacrifice beings, sprinkling water on the dragon tree, burning incense for the dragon tree, and burning prayers. Each process was solemn and sacred. After all the ceremonies, accompanied by the melodious Dongjing music, the villagers danced the traditional Yi dance to celebrate the arrival of the festival. The long dragon ancient banquet was set up along the street, and thousands of guests gathered together. The dragon sacrifice banquet was the highlight of the dragon sacrifice ceremony. On that day, the whole town of Nisu was immersed in a paradise of food and a sea of singing and dancing. Whether it was guests from all over the world or the local Yi people, they were as close as a family. They sat together, drinking, singing, and dancing to their heart's content. After the dragon sacrifice ceremony, the much-anticipated dragon sacrifice banquet was held. There were 400 tables in total, with 4 tourists at each table. The number of participants in the entire event reached tens of thousands. The dishes on each table were cooked by local Yi villagers themselves, so the types and tastes of the dishes were different. The dragon sacrifice banquet was held from the beginning to the end of the village, like a giant dragon lying down! The traditional dragon sacrifice activities are constantly endowed with new ideological content in today's Nisu Town, which not only maintains the roots of the national spirit, but also activates and enriches the modern cultural life of the villagers, allowing socialist spiritual civilization to enter the village and the village, deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and has become a tourist detonator in Nisu Town, attracting tens of millions of tourists to participate and experience.
