According to the "Yunnan Provincial Annals and Medical Annals", "In the sixth year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1728), Shen Yubai of Xiushan, Tonghai, founded Lao Boyuntang and produced Boyun tablets for eye drops, which was the first to make medicine in Yunnan." Lao Boyuntang has passed down the values of "medicine to save the world, and keep the industry for generations". In the late Qing Dynasty, Shen Yuanneng, the eighth-generation heir of Lao Boyuntang, used Boyun tablets to cure the eye disease of Xia Baobo, the general of Kaihua, Yunnan, which had been unable to be cured for a long time. Xia selected Boyun tablets as tribute and was rewarded by the royal family. Xia was delighted and presented Lao Boyuntang with a Tibetan couplet: "The eyes are like lightning when the eye is pulled out, and the clouds and fog are cleared and the medical way is divine." From then on, Lao Boyuntang became famous and became one of the four famous Chinese medicine halls, along with the mainstream famous Chinese medicine stores such as Beijing Tongrentang, Tianjin Darentang, and Hangzhou Huqingyutang. Boyun tablets are famous in Qianglong along the Hengduan valley, and are popular in the Central Plains through Hunan in the east, and in Shanxi and Henan in the north through Sichuan and Chongqing. In the early years of the Republic of China, the eighth-generation descendant of Lao Boyuntang hung the sign of Lao Boyuntang on Wucheng Road in Kunming. Subsequently, Boyunding crossed the sea to Japan, went south to Southeast Asia, and crossed the ocean to Australia. In 1966, due to the Cultural Revolution, Boyunding was forced to stop production. In 1984, Shen Yonggang, the tenth-generation descendant of Lao Boyuntang, built a factory in Tonghai Xianfang and resumed the production of Boyunding. On February 13, 1986, the Yunnan Daily issued a news report that Boyunding was revived. On October 8, 1987, the 11276th issue of China News reported: "Yunnan Tonghai Boyunding eye drops were put into mass production by Lao Boyuntang Pharmaceutical Factory in August last year. At present, it has been sold in 24 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions, and has entered the Hong Kong market." In 1994, Boyunding was listed as a "national basic medicine Chinese medicine preparation variety." In January 2003, Lao Boyuntang settled in Chuxiong, the birthplace of Yi medicine, and built a modern GMP production base with high-tech content in Chuxiong Economic and Technological Development Zone. In May 2004, Lao Boyuntang production base successfully passed the national drug GMP certification and officially went into production in July 2004. In January 2005, the State Food and Drug Administration issued an announcement that "Boyun Ding" was listed as the first national second-level protected variety of traditional Chinese medicine. In May 2005, Chuxiong Lao Boyuntang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was registered and established, opening a new chapter in the historical development of "Boyun Ding". "Boyun Ding" is the only traditional Chinese medicine ophthalmic tablet product in my country. It is made with the traditional formula of the Yi people and through traditional craftsmanship. It is the first Yi medicine variety evaluated by the Chinese Society of Ethnic Medicine. It has a history of more than 280 years of medicinal use, 150 years earlier than the history of "Yunnan Baiyao". The formula of Bo Yun Ding is exquisite, combining more than ten kinds of Chinese medicinal materials in three categories: mineral medicine, plant medicine and animal medicine. Through the theory of "Five Elements" and "Eight Diagrams", according to the laws of birth, restraint and control of the "Five Elements", the various drugs in the prescription are absorbed by the eyeball and enter the blood circulation through the micro-vessels. According to the direction of the meridians and the organs to which the hexagrams belong, they play their respective therapeutic effects. Qi and blood flow in both directions, "suppressing the strong and supporting the weak", the six meridians are circulated with qi and blood, and the coordination and balance are restored, and the eye diseases heal themselves. Indications of Bo Yun Ding: People with common eye diseases, including patients with common eye diseases such as visual fatigue, eye inflammation, eye infection, getting angry, red eyes and eye discomfort.
