The Huangshakou Old Enclosure in Laocheng Town was built by Huang Nanshan Gong in the fourth year of the Longqing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1570), with a history of 448 years. This enclosure is 60 meters wide, 50 meters deep, and covers an area of 3,000 square meters. It is a typical loess rammed earth hanging mountain top square enclosure with five buildings, six verticals, four halls, eleven wells, and a small door on each side of the central gate. This enclosure and this village are the places with the most scholars in the history of our county, so there is a saying that "there are more scholars than dogs in Huangshakou, Laocheng". According to legend: Huang Nanshan Gong was kind, simple, hospitable, and generous by nature. He came here in prehistoric times and made a living by building a thatched hut and raising ducks. One day, a Feng Shui master traveled around the world, looking for dragons and exploring veins, passed by this place, and stayed in his house for a few days, and was warmly entertained. In order to thank the host for his generosity, he said to the host before leaving, "This is a Feng Shui treasure land. If you can build an enclosure here, you will be rich and noble in the future." From then on, the Huang family built a fence here through years of hard work and savings, and it took more than 8 years to build this fence. There is also a legend: Huangshakou Old Fence looks like a tiger, the fence sits west and faces east, with its back against the dragon vein of a tiger pouncing on its food. The left and right sand hills of the fence are like the two claws of a tiger, one in front and one behind, with a fierce and realistic shape. There is also a saying that it is backed by the dragon's seal and a beautiful woman looking in the mirror; this fence is built on the pier on the mountainside, with a stream surrounding it, which is called the official jade belt; the gate faces the literary style of Wenchang Pavilion in the old city and Bifeng in the distance; and the gate is in the shape of a tiger head, with two lanterns hanging on the left and right tiger eyes above it. Every New Year or the first and fifteenth nights of the lunar month, when the lanterns are lit, the pigs raised in the Huangshajiao pig-shaped fence one mile away from the gate will howl non-stop, because the tiger spirit in this fence is powerful, and the pigs are frightened and frightened. Therefore, the above Feng Shui cultural pattern constitutes the spiritual power and masculine spirit of the Huang family's descendants, and makes the Huangshakou Old Fence prosperous and talented. According to relevant introductions and genealogical records, in history, the descendants of the Huang family who separated from the Huangshi Laowei in Huangsha Village, Laocheng Town, have multiplied and thrived in Ganzhou City, Nankang City, Xinfeng County, Kuimeishan Town, Heping County, Guangdong, and other places, with a total of 40,000 people. For more than 400 years, they have paid special attention to the traditional concept of learning literature and advocating martial arts, so that those who go out to study, do business, and become officials can have smooth sailing, achieve their wishes, and turn misfortune into good fortune. Therefore, the Huang family genealogy records the following: "Nanshan Gong attached great importance to the education of his children, and many of his descendants passed the imperial examinations and became officials.
