Later, he passed on his skills to his apprentice Zhao Tongyou. Zhao Tongyou studied and innovated on the techniques taught by his master and founded Zhao's Haizhou dough sculpture. Later, the Zhao family moved to Haizhou area and lived in Fanxian. The Zhao family's Haizhou dough sculpture has been passed down from generation to generation, and it has been passed down to the disciple Zhao Guomei for the sixth generation. Zhao Guomei has always insisted on the research and innovation of Haizhou dough sculpture techniques. She not only inherited the Haizhou dough sculpture production technology of her ancestors, but also changed the singleness of the past Haizhou dough sculpture techniques, created some new techniques to make Haizhou dough sculptures, integrated many artistic elements of painting into the works, and gave a modern understanding to the techniques of Haizhou dough sculptures.
