Traditional building construction skills (stone building construction) (expanded), a traditional skills project of the seventh batch of representative projects of Lianyungang's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Without the filling of mud and gravel, only the perfect mechanical support between stones can build houses that have survived more than 500 years of wind and rain without collapsing. This makes people admire the wisdom of the ancients. Lianyungang's unique stone house building technology has been passed down for more than 500 years. Choose a piece of mountain land on the mountainside, then make a nest, and then use a hammer to drive the iron wedge into it little by little, take down large pieces of stone, and then use wooden wedges and iron wedges to beat the stone into pieces of flat stones of varying sizes, and then pile them into foundations and walls, put up beams, and put up thatch, and a brand new stone house is built. The hammers used to hit the wooden wedges and iron wedges must fall carefully on the wedges at a fixed frequency. Any excessive hammering may cause the wedges to resonate, causing the stone to suddenly break, and such a breakage will make the previous work go to waste. If the ancients relied on the gift of nature to find stone materials, then the stone house, from stone cutting to completion, is the accumulation of wisdom and patience of craftsmen from generation to generation.
