Labor Song
Labor songs, a traditional music item in the second batch of representative items of Huai'an's municipal intangible cultural heritage. Basic content Labor songs are a traditional music form created by working people to reduce fatigue during production and labor, and are closely integrated with production and labor. They are usually led by one person and responded by others. The labor songs in Xuyi have a long history, dating back to the Three Kingdoms period. The singing style of Xuyi's "labor songs" is mainly the "leading and joining" style, that is, one person leads and everyone joins, or everyone leads and everyone joins. The singing forms of labor songs include solo, duet, and chorus, but one leader and many join is the most common and typical singing style. The leader is often the conductor of collective labor. The leading part is often the main part of the lyrics. Its music is relatively flexible and free. The tune and lyrics often have improvisational changes. The melody often rises, or is relatively high-pitched and loud, with the characteristics of calling and appealing. The chorus part is mostly the supporting words or repeated fragments of the leading part. The music is relatively fixed, with few changes and a strong sense of rhythm. The same rhythm is often used for repetition. Xuyi labor songs mainly include cattle herding songs, tamping songs, rice planting songs, bagging songs, silk pulling songs, carrying loads, plowing songs, beating songs, pulling sails, leaving warehouses, twisting gates, pulling tow ropes, holding poles, rowing songs, threshing songs, etc. There are more than 20 kinds. For example, the tamping song: leader: hit the tamping, ... Leader: Tamp up the foundation and build a new house. Chorus: Hi zala ke ya hi, yo shang ge ya hi (the following chorus is omitted) Leader: Build the south building first to block the north dipper, build the north building later to block the sun. Build the big buildings in front and back, then build the east and west halls. Build the east and west halls, then build the left and right warehouses. The east warehouse has a room, the west warehouse has a room, the warehouses are full of grain. The roof is turned to the east warehouse to store rice, and the west warehouse has miscellaneous grains. The courtyard is well-tied, and the surroundings are more magnificent. Build a parking garage in the southeast, and a cow and horse stable in the northwest. Build a chess and piano room in the northeast, and a study room in the southwest. Build a big road in the east of the house, and dig a horse pond in the west. There are pig and sheep pens on the left and right in front of the door, and a grain field next to the road. Large carts pull, small carts load, that year we harvested ten thousand dan of grain. Thousands of willows are planted at the door, and ten thousand mulberry trees are planted behind the house. Thousands of willows are used to tie cattle and horses, and phoenixes land on ten thousand mulberry trees. Phoenixes only land on treasure-less land, and there are treasures under mulberry trees. Thousands of people pass by and praise, and everyone praises the rich family. Cars and horses are lined up in front of the door, and fish are splashing in the green water of the river. Geese and ducks come in groups to play in the water, and dive to catch fish and shrimps. Frogs jump up and down, quack, quack, quack, quack. The puppy in front of the door barks, bites people's clothes and pulls them home. When you enter the house, first serve the fragrant tea, and then take the cigarettes. Take a break at this time, take a breath and talk. The labor songs of Xuyi are distinctive, pleasant to the ears, and casual. They have a strong local flavor and have certain research value.
