Gangxi paper-cutting is a traditional art project in the fourth batch of representative projects of Yancheng City's intangible cultural heritage. As one of the branches of Chinese folk paper-cutting, Gangxi paper-cutting was spread in the Gangxi Qi family in the late Qing Dynasty. The more famous people in history include Qi Lifu, Qi Lisong and others, who are praised by local people as paper-cutting masters. The emergence and spread of Gangxi paper-cutting are closely related to local festival customs and living habits. Before liberation, the local custom of using window paper-cutting, pillow paper-cutting, ribbon flower, and happy characters for decoration was widely popular; after the founding of the People's Republic of China, with the rapid development of social economy and the continuous improvement of living standards, paper-cutting art has been more widely used, and is closely combined with the decoration of the central hall and murals. Gangxi paper-cutting was included in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage protection projects in our county in 2007. It integrates the south and the north, and is eclectic. It has both the simplicity and simplicity of the northern paper-cutting and the gorgeousness and brightness of the southern paper-cutting, forming a unique regional style. In recent years, the County Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center has actively built a display and exchange platform, and carried out public welfare experience, paper-cutting art into campus and other activities, so that the inheritance team has grown stronger and stronger. In June 2014, the County Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center held a paper-cutting popularization achievement display event in Gangxi Longxiang Park; in September 2016, the County Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and the County Library jointly carried out a paper-cutting project parent-child experience activity; in June 2017, the County Art Museum held a "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" theme event paper-cutting art exhibition.
