The Harvest Festival is also known as the "Ten Complete Festival" and "Eight Complete Festival". The rural areas of Fusui County celebrate the Harvest Festival in the tenth month of the lunar calendar. It is difficult to estimate the origin of the Harvest Festival, but it has been very popular since the Qing Dynasty. Farmers celebrate the Harvest Festival as a festival second only to the Spring Festival. Because this festival is held during the slack season, it is particularly lively. A few days before the festival, people begin to prepare the necessary food such as wine and meat, and some even make glutinous rice cakes. On the day of the festival, relatives from other places will naturally go to support the event without notifying them. Even strangers who pass by can attend the banquet as long as they meet. The family with the most guests shows that he has many relatives and friends and a wide range of connections; on the contrary, if a family has a deserted house, it proves that his family is not prosperous. Some farmers also worship their ancestors' graves during the Harvest Festival and pray for another good harvest next year. There are different days for celebrating the Harvest Festival in different regions. The Zhuang people in Zhongdong Town celebrate the festival on the tenth day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar, so it is also called the "Ten Complete Festival", which means that the harvest is "full". The Zhuang people in Xinning, Longtou, Dongmen, Liuqiao, Shanwei and other towns choose a day between the 9th and 29th day of the 10th lunar month to celebrate the festival (by convention). Among them, the 9th, 19th and 29th days contain the number "nine", so it is also called the "Sanjiu" Festival. The Zhuang people in Xichang Village and Baliao Village in Fuba Village celebrate the Harvest Festival on the 20th day of the 10th lunar month, so it is also called the "October 20th Festival". The harvest festival in Napai Village, Shanwei Town, is called "Sweeping the Lake Pond" (Sweeping the Hetang) in Zhuang language, and is held after the 9th day of the 9th lunar month every year. The harvest festival in Kelan Village, Dongluo Town is also called "Liangjie", and is held on the first ugly day after the 9th day of the 9th lunar month every year. On this day, the Wei families in Kelan, Nalian and Duchong Village slaughter chickens and ducks from morning to night, and even slaughter pigs and sheep. There are many dishes, and they invite relatives and friends to their homes for dinner, playing finger-guessing games and drinking. It is very grand, second only to the Spring Festival.
