Xinhui, the hometown of Liang Qichao, a famous Chinese thinker, is a famous historical and cultural city in Guangdong Province. It has a history of 1,800 years and profound cultural heritage. Xinhui is rich in palm trees and specializes in sunflower fans, and is known as the "Sunflower Town". Xinhui's sunflower art has a long history. Since the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Xinhui has begun to plant sunflower trees and process sunflower art. After more than a thousand years of exploration by folk artisans, Xinhui people have integrated weaving, embroidery, painting and printing techniques, and the processing of sunflower art products has reached a superb level. During the heyday of sunflower art, Xinhui had more than 300 sunflower art factories and more than 500 varieties of colors, and its products were exported to Europe, America and Southeast Asian countries. The fire painting fan created by the old painter Chen Wan in the late Tongzhi period was listed as a special handicraft by the state in 1952, and also won the first "Hundred Flowers Award" of the Ministry of Light Industry of China and many other national awards. In 1988, the inheritor Liao Huilin represented the country in the Folk Art Expo held in France and performed a live fire painting fan production performance, which won wide acclaim. In 1958, Premier Zhou Enlai visited Xinhui and made a special trip to the Sunflower Art Factory, where he spoke highly of the sunflower craft products of Xinhui. "A cool world, created by hands, exquisite beyond the magic of the axe, ingenious beyond the heavens, flying all over the world, overwhelming the west wind", this was the high evaluation of the sunflower fan craft by Comrade Guo Moruo when he visited Xinhui in 1959. Batches of historical and cultural celebrities, politicians, and international friends have come to Xinhui to observe the processing of sunflower art products. Guan Shanyue, a master of the Lingnan School of Painting, came to observe and tried the "burning fire painting" process more than 60 times, but because he could not control the strength of the iron, he burned the fan every time. In the end, he could only throw the "burning" and sigh: What a unique skill!
