Guangzhou Hakka folk songs
Guangzhou Hakka folk songs are folk songs sung by Hakka people in the Hakka dialect. They are the oral literature of the Hakka people. They are rich in the language characteristics of the Hakka people and have a strong flavor of rural life. They are an independent branch of folk songs. Hakka folk songs evolved with the formation of the Hakka ethnic group. The techniques of fu, bi, and xing can be traced back to the Fifteen National Winds. The lyrics are similar to bamboo poems and are influenced by the Wu dialect of Jiangnan. In the Ming Dynasty, Hakka people came to Guangzhou from northeastern Guangdong. Hakka folk songs also came and began to be sung in Guangzhou, and integrated with the characteristics of Cantonese culture. Hakka folk songs are sung in Guangzhou's Yuexiu District, Tianhe District, Huadu District, Luogang District, Zengcheng City and Conghua City.
