The Qingtuan in Zhuanghang is commonly known as "Mahualang" dumplings, also known as "black gold eggs". It is a traditional farm snack food in Zhuanghang area with a history of more than 600 years. The production skills of Zhuanghang Qingtuan are unique in the selection of ingredients. The fillings are sweet and salty, sweet lard with bean paste, sesame and fruit, salty shepherd's purse with meat, spring bamboo shoots with meat, Malan dried tofu, etc. "Mahualang" wild vegetables are the main raw materials for making Zhuanghang Qingtuan. Its scientific name is "Nihucai". It is a unique wild vegetable in Zhuanghang area. It grows on the edge of the field, the river beach, and the pear garden. The whole plant can be used as medicine. It has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxification, reducing swelling and dispersing knots. It can treat mastitis, furuncle, cervical lymphadenitis, carbuncle, toothache, gingivitis and other diseases. Because "Mahualang", a plant of the Asteraceae family, has such magical effects, some of it is put into the production of Qingtuan, which is green and healthy to eat. Zhuanghang Qingtuan is spherical in shape, with a pointed top and clamp flowers. It is steamed in a bamboo cage. When it is just out of the cage, the color of Mahualang Qingtuan is emerald green, and it gradually turns dark green after being blown by the wind. A basket of Mahualangqingtuansa looks like a nest of black golden eggs. It is elastic when pressed with fingers and tough when eaten. It is sweet but not sticky or greasy, and salty and refreshing.
